Advance News on a Bite of Oregon

Celebrating its 30th year, a Bite of Oregon, the state’s largest culinary event, is slated for August 9-11th this year, and will feature several new events.

The Oregon Craft Beer Gardens will have two locations, at either end of the best, and feature fifteen different local brewers serving about thirty different kinds of beer.  As you probably know, Oregon is famous for its craft beer, and part of the magic of brewing here is due to the local access to ingredients – hops, barley, and wheat.  Participants have promised to bring their latest brews to Bite, and admission to the Beer Gardens is included with your general admission ticket.

Local James Beard winner, Gabe Rucker, of Le Pigeon and Little Bird (have you had this guy’s burger? Amazing!) (Mrs. Burgerdogboy also swoons over their roasted bone marrow when it’s available), will be appearing on the Chef’s Stage on Sunday.  Rucker’s first cookbook will be released in mid September.  That will be worth a trip to Powells!

Bite of Oregon tickets are available now, and special premium packages include great gifts.
