Remembering the Late Mrs. BurgerDogBoy or….

burgercowgirlfinalLife imitates art.  Art imitates life?

It was two years ago that Mrs. Burgerdogboy passed on to that great revolving all you can eat sushi bar in the sky. There was never any definite cause of death.  Could have been like a wind-up toy, she just ran down.  Or like a jaded actress, she felt the role was played out.  Or the two liter bottle of gin in an afternoon.

The scariest scenario, one that’s probably more true than not, is that she was a figment of one of our imaginations, trying to be someone way outside of her comfort zone, and far too far away from her roots.  FYI, gutter punks and silver spooners don’t ever mesh.

Whatever.  I do miss the person she never got to be, the person I thought she was.  She hated this time of year, which she described as “two weeks of over drinking, over eating, and one other thing” which I can’t discuss here, (unfortunately, it never involved me) as this site has a family rating.  And today is her birthday.  Or at least she said it was, no way of knowing whether that was true or not, most things she said weren’t.

It’s a tough time of year for me, because it’s also around the date some years ago I fell in love with the one who got away.  My practical but elegant little Texas cowgirl.

You see, she was gonna be an actress,
And I was gonna learn to fly.
She took off to find the footlights,
And I took off to find the sky.
