Got a chance to try these out, accompanying literature and POP says “for a limited time only”, which probably means they are test marketing, so the product might not be available chain wide.
The Steakhouse Onion Rings come in box similar to a fry container and include a side of ranch dressing. There are 5 large rings for $2.99 (at the store I was at in Nevada).
The rings are large, use whites, whole slices, not onion pieces, and the coating is light and crispy, reminiscent of a panko/tempura mix.
They have good flavor and are crisp when delivered. The crispness fades, but probably not before you have consumed the whole order.
These are so much better than any other fast food ring, one hopes they stick around.
