Los Angeles – So Solley, Jerry’s Deli

So once upon a time, at opposite ends of the Valley, there was the mighty Jerry’s Deli, and to a lesser extent, Solley’s, on the Boulevard, in Woodland Hills.

Solley’s use to be a regular hangout of mine, Jerry’s not so much, just a proximity thing, but each were grand in their own right.

Fast forward 25 years, and my regular Solley’s (Woodland Hills) is now a Jerry’s, and Jerry’s has multiple, multiple locations, and also operates the Rascal House deli in Miami, another of my absolute favorites. Jerry’s kept the Sherman Oaks Solley’s operating under that name.

All of them have fabulous, lengthy, lengthy menu, with all the deli favorites, anytime breakfast, and many are open 24 hours. We used to hit the Westwood Jerry’s up for late nite or post date, or morning after noshes. Excellent.

On this day, I went into the Jerry’s at the corner of Topanga and Ventura, in front of the Ralph’s that used to be a Von’s, across the street from the first doggie dermatologist I had ever seen, and was up for a nice brekky, and they came through as always.

Jerry’s is one of those rare places that no matter which location, no matter what time of day, no matter what you order, it comes out right the first time, and every time, at least that has been my experience.

Today was no exception.   Tho a “Fatburger” across the parking lot was calling my name, Jerry’s breakfast of two over easy, bacon, lightly toasted poppy bagel, and extra crispy potatos, was just what I needed.
