Chief Asia Burger correspondent, Guillaume Cadilhac, scored a US kobe beef burger at Bakery 49 in Taipei. Bakery 49 was started by a group of pals from San Francisco, and offers a full breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu, including fresh-baked breads all day. The San Francisco staple bread, sourdough, is featured prominently, as are fresh-baked bagels in a wide variety of flavors.
The burger is served with a side of fries, and dressed with caramelized onion, gruyere, tomato and butter lettuce. Cadhilac said it was a truly excellent burger, and he had a lot to compare it to, we previously made a burger drive across 2,000 miles in the States!
