Plano, TX – Brick House Tavern

Burger “Reporteress” Lauren is on the road in Texas this week, and stopped in with la famile at the Brick House Tavern in Plano (exurban Dallas). She reports this schnockoff of Hooters offers good man food, in a man cave like setting, and pretty scenery in the not terribly presence wait staff. But that’s what the service would be like in a man cave, wouldn’t it boys?

They sampled the mac n’ cheese, which the online menu describes as “the comfort food from home and college”. (When did these guys go to college, haven’t they ever heard of Ramen?). Then Lauren’s party slid into the Silver Dollar Sliders, 100% ground chuck, American cheese and caramelized onions.

The Fondue Mushroom Burger came next with melted Swiss cheese, sauteed mushrooms, caramelized onions, sliced tomato, lettuce, onion, p ickles & garlic-mayo and fries on the side. BTW, you can get BH burgers in a variety of sizes, right up to one pounders!

Another side of parmesan crispy tots, and the “Good Girl” Caesar Salad finished off the day.

In glancing over other reviews on line, seems Lauren’s comments on the service are spot on, it seems to run really hot and cold, according to many diners.

I’d forgive them. They have deviled eggs on the menu. LOL
