It was late, we were circling downtown Ukiah, CA, in search of a burger, and were about to give up, started heading out of town, and found Be Bops on neighborhood corner, screaming out to us in the darkness. A replica of an old-fashioned hamburger drive in, Be Bops dazzling neon and brightly lit interior drew us in.
Mr. PDMAE went with the double burger, and I was in the mood for change of pace, so I went with a grilled ham and cheese on marbled rye. We shared an order of chili cheese fries on the side.
All orders more than satisfied, and service was speedy, courteous, and poodle-skirted. Be Bops must be pretty new, it doesn’t show on Urbanspoon or any of the other usual sites I check for cross reference. Nor can I locate a website.
If you’re into burgers, and 50s nostalgia, Be Bops is worth a stop in Northern California.
