Walla Walla, WA – Big Cheese Pizza

After a somewhat frustrating check in at the nearby Super 8 motel, I set out in a mood to comfort myself with some comfort food, and spotted “Big Cheese Pizza.” I pulled in. In trying to find this online review sites later, I had very little success, tho it shares a street address with another internet listing, “Eastgate Pizza,” so a conversion has taken place within the last year or so.

“Big Cheese” says it is “family owned” and the “West’s Best Pizza!” (West Walla Walla?). In any case, I ordered the medium thin crust (they offer original round, thin and crispy, stuffed, and square n thick), with Italian sausage, (Hormel) pepperoni, sliced green olives and double cheese.

Less than 15 minutes later, it was out of the oven, in the box, and ready to go. I stopped at a mini mart on the way back for soda (don’t ask why I didn’t just get it at Big Cheese, I spaced….)

Back in to my less than friendly Super 8 Motel room (“Reasonable Rates” the sign said – HAH!), my myself comfortable, pizza on the left, laptop in the middle, and soft drinks and ashtray to the right. Ahhhhh.

Mrs. Burgerdogboy said my website would be more interesting with videos, so I did a little one here. I’m not sure how she can say I need this, since she never reads my site, but she’s the expert, so away we go, with occasional videos. Note to self, from now on, remember to take STILLS as well, before you start EATING.

DOH!

You’ll find the Big Cheese menu under the menu tab above, and you’ll find Big Cheese Pizza in Walla, Walla, Washington. I’d rate this one (if I rated pizzas on the worstpizza.com scale), at a 6 out of 8 slices

  1. I’m sorry you got duped by “The BEST pizza”. I live in Walla Walla, and I NEVER eat Heplers Big Cheese Pizza. EVER. Sweet Basil Pizza used to have the best pizza in town, but sadly, they closed. I’m all about supporting local merchants, but sadly….Dominoes actually has a better pizza. How sad is that? Plus, when they deliver, Dominoes pizza is actually hot, while Heplers is room temp. I must admit….my dogs have a real penchant for Heplers ribs. (ok, I kinda like those ribs too….even if the BBQ sauce is bottled). The ribs are nicely cooked, tender and meaty. The portion is ample, and while I don’t expect ribs to be on the same level as a rib joint, these aren’t 1/2 bad. Especially when I have no ribs in the freezer and WANT ribs, and can’t leave the sleeping old man alone to go out….Delivery. Yeah baby, delivery covers a few culinary sins when that’s all that’s available.
